The Collaborative has since been formally adopted as an initiative of the Great Lakes Commission, which will serve as Secretariat, providing staff support. Members include nine states/provinces, US and Canadian agencies, and industry, academic, environmental, and stakeholder interests. The Great Lakes Wind Collaborative established an offshore wind working group.
Studies, Research and Development: In 2009, the Great Lakes Commission (on behalf of the Great Lakes Wind Collaborative) received $99,740 from DOE to pursue an initiative called Best Practices to Accelerate Wind Power in the Great Lakes Region and Beyond. The Great Lakes Wind Collaborative has, among resources, a Great Lakes Wind Atlas. |
